Betty Fleming

Betty J. Fleming, age 64, of Athens, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Monday, March 24,2025, at her home under the tender care of Compassus Hospice.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at the Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford with Rev. Teri Hanson presiding. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the time of service Saturday at the funeral home.

Betty was born on June 13,1960, the daughter of Stephen and Frances (Kielkucki) Jaks in Thorp. She graduated from Thorp High School. Betty worked at Clark County Rehabilitation and Living Center as a CNA for 30 years and loved taking care of people. On October 7,1995, she was united in marriage to Kevin Fleming.

Betty loved being with her family and friends. She enjoyed her week long cabin get-a-ways with her sisters and their husbands and her vacations to Myrtle Beach. Christmas was her favorite holiday. Betty created many beautiful quilts and had pretty flower gardens. She had a great love for her cats: Toby and Trixie.

Betty is survived by her husband of 29 years, Kevin; her son, Shawn (Brandi) Neuenfeldt; one step-daughter, Monica (Adam) Kaiser; one step-son, Adam Fechelm; three grandchildren: Blake Neuenfeldt, Vanessa Hartwig and Shaila Neuenfeldt; two sisters: Mary (Jim) Dircks and Rita (Steve) Reischel; two brothers-in-law: Rick (Linda) Fleming and A1 Ruchotzke; two sistersin- law: Tammy (Gary) Grambort and Linda Fleming; former mother-in-law: Wilma Neuenfeldt; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Marge Ruchotzke and father-in-law and mother-in-law: Gerald and Ann Fleming.
