David “Frankie” Peter Capaul
David “Frankie” Peter Capaul passed away peacefully, Saturday, March 15, 2025.
Frankie was born July 23, 1961, to Harold and Evelyn Capaul.
He went to school in Cornell, and graduated in 1979. After high school, he attended CVTC in Eau Claire, earning an associate’s degree in machining.
Frankie spent many years driving over the road for many companies, starting with K& B Transport, Millis Transfer, where he was owner/operator, ABF, A-1 Trucking, S& S Trucking and All-Ways.
He was with the volunteer Cornell Area Fire Department for 40 years.
When not driving, Frankie had many hobbies and interests; he was an avid hunter and fisherman, taking his big boat up on “The Big Lake.” He did woodworking, taxidermy, meat smoking and golfing (getting a Hole-in-One in Laughlin, Nev.).
He enjoyed spending time at the shack in Clam Lake, and another place in Seeley, where he always seemed to have projects going. He was a good cook, with a talent for using every pot in the house.
Frankie will be remembered for his quick wit and sense of humor, and his awful puns.
He is survived by brothers – Greg, Joe and John (Gina); sisters – Vicki (Gary), Joan and Ann; aunt – Ro, Iowa; and many nieces; nephews; and great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by parents – Harold and Evelyn; and aunts and uncles.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Dave and Shelley DeJongh, for all their help and support through this time.
Thank you to the Cornell Police Department, Tara and Joyel, of APS, the staff of Mayo Hospital in Eau Claire, St. Croix Hospice and Home Suite Home.
In lieu of flowers and memorials, the family asks for donations to the Cornell Area Fire Department or Cornell American Legion Post 353, in Frankie’s name.
A celebration of Frankie’s life will be Sunday, May 4, from noon to 4 p.m., at Foster’s Riverview Inn. Please join us and have a couple, on Frankie’s tab!
