Shirley Arneson

Shirley May Arneson passed away peacefully at home on March 14, 2025. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Maurina Schilling Funeral Homes is entrusted with the arrangements.

Shirley was born August 15, 1955, to James and Viola (Johnson) Arneson, little sister to Mark. She attended Colby area schools. She married Donald Smazal, they later divorced. On July 23, 2023, she married her best friend, Dan Weiler, surrounded by family and friends.

Shirley was a life-long CNA, providing the best care she could to her residents. She was never too busy for a chat or to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved her fur babies, Bubba J and Rainey.

Shirley is survived by her husband, Dan; her daughters: Donna (Keith) Smith, their children Tanner and Harper, Dawn (John) Kundinger and their children Leah, Carter and Logan; her sons: Jamie and David Marienau; stepdaughters: Lisa (Ben) Jahnke and their children, Jenna (Matt) Kops and their children; step-sons: Chad (Kristy) Hainzlsperger and their children, Adam Hainzlsperger and his children, Terry Weiler and his children, and Jay (Jason) Weiler. She is further survived by her mother-in-law, Mary Weiler, and brothersin- law: Jim (Cindy), Kim (Kim) Weiler, Larry (Carolyn) Weiler and Scott (Dawn) Weiler.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Viola; brother, Mark; infant son, Billy Joe and father-in-law, Elroy.
