Evelyn “Evie” B. (Billiard) Seidlitz
Evelyn “Evie” B. (Billiard) Seidlitz, 86, Cornell, passed away Thursday, Feb. 27, 2025, at home, surrounded by her loved ones.
Evie was born Sept. 12, 1938, in Bloomer, the daughter of Delvin and Bernice (Siverling) Geissler.
She attended school in Bloomer, and graduated in 1956.
Evie married LaVern Billiard, June 20, 1959, and they shared many happy years, until his passing, May 5, 1987. They lived in Hutchinson, Minn., for a few years, before returning to Cornell.
She started sewing at the age of nine, and became an avid seamstress and upholsterer. There was not much she couldn’t make or fix. She became the community “fix it” lady. She was also on the Cornell Rescue Squad for many years.
Evie remarried Raymond W. Seidlitz, Feb. 23, 1993. and they also shared many happy years, until his passing, Aug. 19, 2008.
She enjoyed camping, gardening, spending time with family and friends, and of course, sewing.
Evie was also a very involved member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Cornell.
She is survived by her children – Tab (Cindy Meyer) Billiard, Hayward, Charlie (Brenda Pearlman) Billiard, Earl, Travis Billiard, Cornell, and Traci (John) Galvin, Birchwood; two stepsons – Brett (Sandy) Seidlitz, Jim Falls, and Brandon (Sandy) Seidlitz, Cornell; sister – Deon Dachel, Chippewa Falls; grandchildren – Torey Billiard, Nicolas Billiard, Lorin (Amy) Billiard, Lindsay Parenteau, Jeremy (Heather) Galvin, Tyler (Courtney) Galvin, Destinee (David) Wagner, Andrew Seidlitz, Alex (Molly) Seidlitz, Tylor Seidlitz and Sabrina (Nicolas) Burlingame; and many great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her two husbands – La-Vern Billiard and Raymond Seidlitz; her parents – Delvin and Bernice Geissler; in-laws – Max and Florence (Toots) Billiard; daughter – Kathleen Billiard; brothers – Ronnie Geissler, Lloyd Geissler and Dennis Geissler.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 7, from 4-7 p.m., at Borton-Leiser Funeral Home in Cornell. Services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 8, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Cornell.
Visitation will also be from 10 a.m., Saturday, until the start of service, at 11 a.m., at the church.
