Deborah Seubert

Deborah “Debbie” Pearl (Breaman) Seubert, 66, of Marathon, passed away on February 13, 2025, at Bell Tower Residence, Merrill, with family at her side, from complications of Lewy body dementia.

Debbie was born on September 27, 1958, in Oklahoma City, Okla., at the Tinker Air Force Base. She was named after the movie star, Debbie Reynolds. She attended many different prep schools since her father was in the Air Force requiring mandatory moves every two years. After settling in Marathon, she met the love of her life while attending Marathon High School. These high school sweethearts celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary on September 23, 2024, and made Frank’s childhood home “on top of the hill” in Marathon City their “forever home.

Hardworking, committed, well-organized, loving, creative and energetic describes Debbie’s work ethic and lifestyle. She provided in-home daycare while her own children were young and prior to working 25 years at Fiskers and over 10 years at Linetec in shipping and receiving. When arthritis prevented Debbie from performing her manufacturing roles, she returned to and shared the duties of providing comfort and care to the daycare children, who called her “Grandma Debbie,” that her daughter had under her guidance. She was a dedicated, fearless and empathetic volunteer First Responder for the Marathon City area for 17 years. Frank would even escort her on the next “call” when he was available and/or when the emergency deemed necessary. She also provided caring and selfless service to those who were vulnerable and needy for many years in their small community.

Debbie and Frank shared duties around the house, entertaining, mentoring and loving their growing family throughout their marriage. Organizing, preparing and hosting or assisting with family events or celebrations was her passion. She would pass out “free” lottery tickets to a large group of family members gathered on Christmas Day hoping that someone would win some money! Her reward was being present and watching the anticipation, excitement, and joy when someone won a buck or two!

Debbie would provide many food/snack items that would last a full day of events; taco dip and chips, double batch of gooey frosted brownies, boiled eggs, cheese/sausage/crackers, freshly baked dinner rolls, a large bowl of seasonal candy and a variety of mouth-watering foods kept warm in her many crockpots and Nescos. She also filled many coolers with beverages that quenched the thirst of all the guests and facilitated everyone having a memorable and fun family time!

She was committed to staying healthy. She often shared her fitness routine with her daughter after her return home from many work days. Muscle strengthening along with walking three miles a day along the streets and hill of Marathon City was an important part of their mother/daughter bonding and well-being! Debbie was also known and admired for her discipline “style.” She could get any child to stop, look and listen and do what she wanted of them by using simple and firm words, maintaining direct eye contact, and by pointing with her crooked right finger.

Debbie is survived by husband, Francis “Frank” and children: Kevin (Lynne) Seubert, Stoughton, Sarah (Craig) Erdman, Marathon and Brian (Kelly) Seubert, Marathon; Grandma Debbie’s beloved grandchildren: Megan (fiancé, Alex) Erdman, McKenzie (Arik) Erdman Wienke, Dakota (girlfriend, Ella) Erdman, Lauren Seubert, Abby and Kylie Seubert; great-grandchildren: Chloe and Chase Volm, Baby Girl Taytum Wienke (due in April); Debbie’s parents, Joseph A. Breaman and Romayne Breaman; her siblings: Cynthia Hurtis, Wausau, Lorrie (Andy) Berens, Joseph (Lisa) Breaman, Irma, Michael (Sue) Breaman, Smyrna, Ga., as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by grandparents, Jerome and Pearl Brickner, and Cornelius and Marie Breaman, as well as father-in-law, Joseph Seubert; brother-in-law, Paul Seubert; several aunts and uncles.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at The Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary (St. Mary’s) Marathon at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 21, 2025. Rev. Msgr. Joseph Diermeier will preside.
