Gerald Tauchen
Gerald J. Tauchen, 92, of Dorchester, died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2025, at Colonial Health and Rehab in Colby while under the care of St. Croix Hospice.
He was born January 4, 1933, in the town of Little Black to Vincent and Anna (Schroder) Tauchen. He graduated from Dorchester High School, class of 1951.
On October 30, 1954, Pankonin. They farmed in retirement.
Gerald and Jean were members of Builders for Christ and built many churches around the country including Arkansas, Florida, Nebraska, Wisconsin, Kansas and Texas. They were also members of the Good Sam Camping Club and had attended over 100 RV rallies, meeting new friends all along the way. He and Jean enjoyed square dancing, and they were both so proud of their sons and all of their accomplishments. Jean preceded Gerald in death on March 29, 2021.
He is survived by four sons: Bryan (Becky) of Huntsville, Ala., Dale (Pat) of Dorchester, Gordon (Linda) of Stratton, Colo., and Bill (Candie) of Dorchester; siblings: Herbert (Marlys) of Bonduel, Sharon (David) Noland of Medford and Arlene Rau of Dorchester; sisterin- law, Mary of Virginia Beach, Va.; five grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and six step-greatgrandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jean; and a brother, Myron.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2025 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Medford with Rev. David Spaude presiding. Interment will be at Dorchester Memorial Cemetery, Dorchester.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18, at the church.
