Oscar Held

Oscar A. Held, 88, Edgar passed away on Monday, Jan. 27,2025, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

He was born March 23,1936, in Athens, son of the late Herman and Helena (Winter) Held. Oscar married Carol Olah. They later divorced but had four children together.

Oscar farmed in the Town of Wien his whole life. Some of his favorite hobbies included musky fishing, playing cards, taking an occasional trip to the casino and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his companion, Mona Redmann; his children: Barb (Bruce) Klieforth, Rodney (Jessie) Held and Todd (Tracie) Held; eight grandchildren: Chelsea Koch, Bailey (Jesse) Harder, Kyle Held (Laura), Rebecca (fiancé Zach) Held, Samantha Held, Jessica (Dustin) Wachter, Sloane Held and Chayse Held; seven great-grandchildren: Hunter Heck, Jaxson Koch, Morgan Harder, Braxton Harder, Oscar Michael Held, and Axel and Lottie Wachter; one sister, Clara Finger and one brother, Paul Held; many nieces and nephews and his faithful canine companion, Bridgette.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Michael; five sisters: Elizabeth, Dorothy, Jenny, Adeline and Darlene and four brothers: Irvin, Ernest, Robert and Orville.

A memorial service will be held at noon on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2025, at St. John Lutheran Church-High Steeple, Edgar. The Rev. Michael Mathey will preside. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service, all at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Edgar, is in charge of arrangements.
