Janice Miller

Janice M. Miller, 90, Greenwood, passed away peacefully at her home on Jan. 17, 2025. A celebration of life for Janice will be held later.

Janice Mae Falkenrath was born on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 28, 1934, in Racine. She spent her childhood there and graduated from Horlick High School in 1953. Janice married Francis M. “Mike” Gilboy in 1953. After a divorce, she found a partner again and married William “Bill” Miller, with their wedding date in 1971. After that, they moved up north to a hobby farm near Greenwood, where she loved spending her time.

Throughout her life, Janice was a devoted homemaker with many interests. She raised and sold dairy goats, had a deep passion for oil painting, raised quarter horses, loved reading, plus raised and hybridized acres of daylilies. Her newest love, however, was for dahlias, whom she affectionately referred to as her eighth wonder of the world. Janice lived in Greenwood until her passing, cherishing the life she built there on her farm, “Formosa Acres.” Her classic farewell saying was, “I love you; I go now.”

She is survived by six children: Diane Gilboy, Luanne Nelson, Christine (Rod) Ridpath, Patricia (Mark) Simon, Michael (Coreen) Gilboy, and Brian (Denise) Gilboy; one brother, Marlin (Joan) Falkenrath; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and two nieces and one nephew.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Mary Gilboy; three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Carol Parrish.

Cuddie Funeral Home, Greenwood, is assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences may be expressed online at www.cuddiefh.com.
