Debra Genteman

Debra L. Genteman, 74, Willard, passed away at her home on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2025. A memorial service will be held for Debra at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Cuddie Funeral Home, in Greenwood, with visitation from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.

Debra Liu Peterson was born on Nov. 20, 1950, in Hartley, Iowa, to Clarence C. and Bernice M. (Haradon) Peterson. Her family moved to Unity when she was a young child. She received her education and graduated from Colby High School in 1969. She then attended nursing school in Stevens Point and graduated in 1971 with a licensed practical nursing certificate. Debra was united in marriage to Thomas J. Genteman on Oct. 30, 1971, at Colby United Methodist Church in Colby. They farmed near Neillsville, for two years, and then moved to Willard in the spring of 1974. She worked at Neillsville Memorial Hospital until 1976, at which time she became employed at the Clark County Health Care Center in Owen. At the same time, Debra also worked weekends at Norwood Health Center in Marshfield. After retiring in 2011, she enjoyed spending time with her grandkids, gardening, camping, and riding 4-wheeler.

She will be dearly missed by her husband, Tom, of Willard; her children: Kaia (Michael) McGuire of Willard, Tania (James) Kundinger of Marshfield, and Dana (Jessie) Genteman of Willard; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren with two on the way; one sister, Paula (Gary) Jensen of Vesper; and nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Debra was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Brita Oldham; and three sisters: Rita Peterson, Eda Williams, and Carla Peterson.
