Audrey Lenz
Audrey I. Lenz, 94, Greenwood, passed away at Riverside Assisted Living in Neillsville on Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2024. She was born March 2, 1930, at the family home in Weston, Clark County, to Joseph and Edith (Timerson) Duda. She was raised by her father’s older sister, Mary, and Mary’s husband, Louis Walter, in Athens, where she received her education. She later graduated from Greenwood High School in Greenwood.
Audrey Iris Duda married Donald F. Lenz on Dec. 18, 1948, at St. John’s Lutheran Parsonage in Stonebank. Together, they managed his family farm in Eaton and raised a family there until retiring in 1985. They sold the farm in 1993 and moved to Greenwood, where Don resided until he passed in 2012. In 2018, she moved to Riverside Assisted Living.
She was a member of Greenwood’s Trinity Lutheran Church and their Ladies Aid, serving as the Aid president for many years. After the church closed in the late 1990s, Audrey became a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Loyal. She had many interests, but especially enjoyed crafting projects of crocheting and plastic canvas creations, quilting with the ladies at church, sewing and singing. One of her favorite hobbies was making baby caps that she donated to newborn babies at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and two brothers: Lenoy and Donald Duda. Survivors include three daughters: Bonnie (Chris) Clark of Eau Claire, Diana Lenz of Sheboygan and Kay (Gary) Capen of Greenwood; and one granddaughter, Megan Clark. She also leaves behind nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Audrey’s family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Riverside Assisted Living and Compassus Hospice for the care and support they provided.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 4, 2025, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Loyal. Rev. Daniel Zimmerman officiated, with burial following in the Greenwood City Cemetery. Visitation was held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
