Virginia “Jeanie” F. Ponczoch, a longtime resident of the Town of Day in Marathon County, passed away at a blessed age of 91 years on Saturday, Dec. 21, 2024 at Stoney River Assisted Living Facility in Marshfield.
Per Virginia’s wishes, she wanted a Celebration of Life to be held around her birthday. Family and friends are invited to gather on Friday, June 20, 2025, at the American Legion in Marshfield from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. with a Message of Hope starting at 3 p.m.
Virginia was born on June 22, 1933, in Auburndale to Edward and Anna (Dillinger) Grossbier. She was united in marriage to Charles E. Ponczoch, Jr. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Auburndale on November 9, 1953. Sadly, Charles passed away in 2022. She was a homemaker and raised her three children.
Her hobbies included entertaining and hosting family and friends. She would even tend to “host” activities at Stoney River for any events they would have. She was very into all kinds of crafting activities. She enjoyed volunteering at church whenever she was able. She loved to travel and live life to the fullest. Family was the most important thing to her in her life.
She was a member of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Rozellville.
Those who will cherish her memory include her children: Charles (Chris) Ponczoch III of Tucson, Arizona., Cindy (Don) Griesbach of Stratford and John (Ingrid) Ponczoch of Ohio; her grandchildren; her many greatgrandchildren
