Highground ATV raffle helps to raise $11,740
After months of selling raffle tickets for The Highground's 5th Annual “Honoring Our Veterans” ATV Raffle (exactly 609 of the 999 ordered), Veterans Day, November 11, arrived for the winners' names to be drawn. At 3 p.m. that day, JT Savor, the Veteran’s Day guest speaker, did the honor of randomly drawing the three winning tickets.
This year’s raffle helped raise $11,740.00 before prize payouts. Ken Bell of Humbird was pleased to win the 2024 Sage Green Polaris Sportsman 570. “I guess I’ll have to sell one of my older ones now,” stated Bell as he picked up the ATV on November 12. Don Karnosh of Phillips was excited to hear that he had won the second prize of $1,000 and Adam Sweet of Fitchburg expressed his surprise to win the $500 third place prize. Sweet kind-heartedly donated the $500 to The Highground in honor of his father, Ron Sweet. Ron is a Vietnam Veteran military dog handler and has dedicated several Military Working Dog Honor Stones at The Highground.
For the nonprofit veteran organization, this raffle is one of many fundraisers that helps them carry out their mission: Honoring veterans, educating civilians on the many sacrifices made in the name of freedom and healing veterans and their families who made those sacrifices.
On behalf of the veterans and their families who participate in The Highground’s veteran programs, The Highground staff and this year’s lucky winners are eternally grateful to everyone who purchased tickets to support The Highground.
Supporters are invited to keep an eye out in the coming months for information about the next annual Honoring Our Veterans ATV Raffle. Once tickets arrive at The Highground, they will be available for purchase until the raffle drawing on Veterans Day, November 11, 2025.
