Lucille Burger-Lochon

On October 16, 2024, Lucille “Lucy” (nee Boland) Burger-Lochon, 93, passed away with her family by her side while residing at Milestone Assisted Living in Cross Plains. Born to the late Henry and Anne (Simolke) Boland in Spencer, Lucy graduated from Spencer High School in 1949 and soon after began work at Weinbrenner Shoe Factory in Marshfield. Lucy met her first husband, Leonard A. Burger, at the Trianon Ballroom. They were married on October 19, 1953. He passed away in 1970. They resided in Athens, where Lucy owned and operated her business, Lucy’s Beauty Salon, for over 25 years. Lucy later sold her business and married Ollie “Bud” Lochen in 1985 after building a new home on Shawano Lake. In 1998, they moved to Rib Mountain. They also had a vacation home on the Flambeau River near Park Falls, where Lucy had her vegetable and flower gardens. Lucy loved working in the dirt. She was an avid NASCAR fan, always rooting for Matt Kenseth and enjoyed attending local stock car races with her special friend, Jean Burmeister. Lucy loved roaming the woods and pastures, picking wild mushrooms for canning. In her later years, Lucy and Bud always enjoyed attending their children’s and grandchildren’s special events, including weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, baptisms and all family get-togethers. Lucy is survived by one son, Terry (Laurie) Burger, Edgar; one daughter, Sunni (Paul) Carden, Mt. Horeb; one brother, Leon “Butch” (Kathy Stahl) Boland, Elk Mound; sister-in-law, Sandy Boland, Park Falls; step-children, Mary Erickson, Menomonee Falls, Linda (Bob) Bauman, West Bend and Joan Lochen, Marathon. Lucy’s grandchildren include Mitch (Nikki) Burger, Butternut, Megan (Jeremy) Sherman, Medford and Mason (Lisa) Burger, Athens; step-grandchildren, Bob (Jamie) Erickson, Wauwatosa, Karin Paczesny, Wisconsin Rapids, Mary Jane (Bob) Mann, Wausau, Erin (Andrew) Gurlusky, West Bend and Justin (Cheryl) Schmitt, Athens; great-grandchildren: Hailey Raushenbach, Brynlee and Braxton Burger, Crew and Ivie Sherman, Payton Nietzel, Lindy and McCoy Burger, Dustin and Joanna Paczesny, Hailey Erickson, Benn Mann, Owen and Isabel Gurlusky, Mallory and Dailyn Schmitt, Ethan Hoernke and Dallas and Stetson Kosel. Lucy was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Leonard; second husband, Ollie; and siblings: Frances “Tootz” Ven Rooy and Eugene Boland. Lucy will be remembered and missed by all who knew and loved her. May the Lord hold and keep her until we meet again. Rest well Mom.
