Linda Briski
Linda M. Briski, 72, Greenwood, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday, Sept. 12, 2024, at Marshfield Medical Center in Eau Claire. Funeral services were held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2024, at St. Bernard-St. Hedwig Catholic Church, in Thorp, with Rev. Stanislaus Michael Antony officiating. Pallbearers will be Amber Arndt, Rachel Drozd, Megan Serocki, Craig Benzschawel, Travis Serocki, Andy Serocki, Jemery Serocki, Brandon Wilson and Nick Wilson. Visitation was held on Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2024, at St. Bernard-St. Hedwig Catholic Church from 4-8 p.m. and again on Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery in Thorp at a later date.
Linda Marie Serocki was born on April 22, 1952, in Browns Valley, Minn., to James N. and Bernice C. (Homan) Serocki. In 1961, her family moved to Thorp where she completed her education, graduating from Thorp High School in 1970. After high school, Linda worked at Berg Equipment and later at Nelson-Jameson, both in Marshfield. She was united in marriage on March 5, 1977, to Duane M. Briski at St. Hedwig Chapel in Thorp. Once her two sons were born, her career transformed to watching over them, being a significant contributor on the farm and working various part-time jobs. Family was very central to Linda.
She was a previous member of St. Bernard-St. Hedwig PCCW and the Clark County Homemakers.
Linda had many interests which included canning, cooking, wine making, bowling, reading and stamping. She especially loved her flowers and the hunt to find them at local greenhouses. Linda also loved spending time with her family and friends. She was especially excited to welcome her first grandchild, Levi Michael Briski.
She will be dearly missed by her husband, Duane, of Greenwood; her two sons: Brian (Louise) Briski, and their son, Levi, of Fall Creek, and Nathan Briski of Gilman; eight siblings: Ronald Serocki of Greenwood, Mona Wilson of Hayward, Marlene (Matt) Wilson of Owen, Denise (Wally) Milas of Lublin, Mark (Becky) Serocki of Thorp, Brenda (Kenny) Pogodzinski of Withee, Jim (Shelly) Serocki of Greenwood and Mike (Stacy) Serocki of Greenwood; her stepmother, Marian Slowiak of Thorp; her brotherin- law, Jerome (Gay) Briski of Greenwood; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Tom Serocki; and her brother-in-law, George Wilson.
