The honor of pallbearers belonged to: Justin Kuck, Jordan Kuck, Jeremy Kuck, Mike Thurs, Kory Gertschen, Al Natzke, Tom Peter and Kevin Lipinski. Julie was born on December 1, 1961, in Merrill, the daughter of Eldred and Jean (Borchardt) Zastrow. She was a graduate of Merrill High School. She was employed as a legal secretary for Wausau Insurance, and most recently employed by UMR as a claims specialist. Julie met her future husband, Richard Kuck, at a wedding dance of their friends, Al and Michelle Natzke, on May 27, 1979, at Schmidt’s Ballroom in Wausau. THE REST IS HISTORY. She and Richard have been together for 45 years and raised three boys together.
Julie enjoyed being outside tending to her vegetable and flower gardens, keeping her yard meticulous, caring for her horses, and making her house look perfectly beautiful for each holiday season. She had a big heart and generous soul so if you liked a treat or dish she made, like her world-famous German potato salad, she’d be sure to drop it off for you out of the blue. Julie also had an infectious smile that could brighten anyone’s day. She will be deeply missed.
Those who will cherish her memory for years to come include her loving husband, Richard Kuck; her sons: Justin (Shannon) Kuck of Athens, Jordan Kuck (Sarah Roehl) of Athens and Jeremy (Sarah) Kuck of Edgar; her grandchildren: Mason, Nora, Korbin, Rylen and Ashton; her sisters: Kay (Scott) Drake of Athens and Jolene (Jeff) Draxler of Athens; her siblings-in-law: Nathalie (Dennis) Fladvid of Athens and Randy (Kathy) Kuck of Athens, along with ten grand-dogs and many other relatives and friends.
Julie was preceded in death by her parents, Eldred and Jean Zastrow; and her mother and father-in-law, Carl and Nila Kuck.
If desired, the family is accepting memorials in Julie’s name for a charity yet to be determined.
