Mark Alan Wojcik
1957-2024
Mark Alan Wojcik passed away on July 10, 2024 at the age of 66 in Stillwater, Minn. His battle with serious medical issues in recent years showed his courage in facing life’s challenges with a big smile and a witty remark. Mark was born on Oct. 27, 1957 to Vince and Rosemary Wojcik. He was the youngest son of five children, Jim (Barbara) Wojcik, Joe (Nancy) Wojcik, Mary Wojcik, and Julie (Eric) Ernest. He grew up in Medford. Here he learned about hard work, patience, and that elementary school fire alarms are not a toy... Mark also learned that he did not need to look far to find the love of his life. He married his treasured high school sweetheart, Kim (Goodman) daughter of Jack and Donna Goodman. They proceeded to create a beautiful life together for 44 years and had three children, Ben (Lisa) Wojcik, Mike (Megan) Wojcik, and Danielle (David) Vincent. They have been blessed with eight beautiful, fun and sweet grandchildren. Mark had many lifelong friends from all seasons and avenues of his life. He was a fiercely loyal friend and considered them all to be an extension of his family.
During Mark’s life, he took time to care for those around him, and always went out of his way for others. He had a huge heart and loved making new friends wherever he was. His classic line was to enter a crowded elevator and, after a long pause, say “Well, I bet you’re wondering why I gathered you all here today.” Mark also loved the adventure and challenge of his work in the grocery industry, managing and introducing multiple products to the U.S. with Kraft, Lloyds Barbecue, Steakumm, and even started two of his own frozen food businesses. Mark had an entrepreneurial spirit and put everything he had into his work. His family can attest to many calls to come try out his newest food prototype. “you have to try it, it’s for science!” Mark also had a passion for swimming. He was a part of the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point Swimming & Diving Team and took part in the charge to win with The 1977 State Championship. Mark continued to swim as a hobby and loved time in the water with his children and grandchildren. Prior to the Covid pandemic and his cancer diagnosis, Mark was training and preparing for the Silver Olympics in Japan.
A celebration of life service for Mark will be held at the Woodbury Lutheran Church (Oak Hill Campus) on Sunday, July 28, 9050 60th St. N, Stillwater, MN 55082. 1 p.m. visitation & 3 p.m. service.
