Beatrice Lorraine (Krug) Decker
1930-2024
Beatrice Lorraine (Krug) Decker, age 93 passed away peacefully on July 9, 2024 just one day shy of her 94th birthday, at Colonial Center under the tender care of St. Croix Hospice Services. Funeral services will be held at noon. Zion Lutheran Church in Colby Thursday July 11, 2024. Visitation will be held 10 a.m.-12 p.m. on Thursday at the church. The Reverend James Groleau will officiate. The Maurina- Schilling Funeral Home in Colby is entrusted with the arrangements.
Beatrice was born July 10, 1930 to Andrew and Ethel Krug. She attended Pine Creek School in the Town of Holway and graduated from Owen High School in 1950. After graduation she worked at Ideal Café and Paulie’s Quick Lunch. On Sept. 6, 1952 Beatrice married the love of her life, Virgil Decker at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in the Town of Holway. Together they raised five children and she enjoyed watching them grow up. She then worked at Packaging Corporation in Colby and finished her career baking delicious pies at the Abby Cafe in Abbotsford.
She is survived by her loving husband, Virgil and their five children, Gail (late Charles) Flick, Sheryl (Jeffrey) Welhouse, Linda (Gary) Meyer, Dennis (Ellen) Decker, and Scott (Julie) Decker. She is lovingly survived by 13 grandchildren, Tim (Krissy) Flick, Sara (David) Curtin, Crystal (Tyler) Flick, Nic (Jayce) Welhouse, Courtney (Tyler) Welhouse, Michelle (Scott) Decker, Ryan (Noelle) Meyer, Brock (Jamie) Meyer, Taylor Meyer, Melissa Decker, Aaron (Megan) Decker, Megan (Drew) Bitters, Michael Decker, and 19 greatgrandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She is also survived by one brother, Dale and two sisters, Annabelle Neitzel and Jane Mathews.
Beatrice was predeceased by her parents; her brothers, Dean, George, William and Jerry; and her sister, Darlene.
Beatrice will be remembered as an amazing wife and mother. She always had a smile on her face and was always ready to kick up her heels. She will be missed by many.
The family would like to thank the Colby Colonial Center for their excellent care and St. Croix Hospice Services for the wonderful care they provided. A memorial in her honor will be set up at a later date.
