Mona Anderson

Mona M. Anderson, age 81, of Mosinee, formerly of Milan, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, under the tender care of Aspirus Comfort Care & Hospice Services.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 15, 2024 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Milan. The Rev. Michael Mathey will preside. Interment to follow at church cemetery. Family and friends are welcome from 9 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the church. The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.

Mona was born on September 1, 1942, the daughter of Lawrence and Eila (Peterson) Marschner in Medford. She graduated from Medford High School. Mona was united in marriage to Ronald Anderson on September 3, 1960, in Stetsonville. She worked at Bethel Nursing Home in Arpin, Weinbrenner Shoes in Marshfield, Kolbe and Kolbe in Wausau and Kramers County Market in Abbotsford and Wausau.

She enjoyed bowling, playing softball, reading, crossword puzzles, Sudoku, playing backgammon and cooking. She was active in her church, teaching Sunday School and VBS. Mona prayed that her children and grandchildren are taken care of by the Lord.

Mona is survived by her husband of 63 years, Ronald; two sons: Michael “Chop” (Julie) and Matthew, both of Rothschild; and four grandchildren: Morgan, Parker, Kenton and Jamison. She is further survived by her two sisters: Unetta Unger (fiancé, Roger Gumz) of Milan and Cheri (Michael) Plooy of Medford; two brothers-in-law: Warren Vircks of Cudahy and James Freimund of Milan; a daughter-in-law, Katy Anderson of Weston; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters: Marilee Marschner, Mary Vircks and Suzanne Freimund.
