Estelle Oldenberg
1926-2024
Estelle Oldenberg, 98, of Medford, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at her home. A memorial mass will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, June 14, 2024 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford with Fr. Julian Druffner officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery in Medford. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Thursday, June 13 at Hemer-Pickerign Funeral Home in Medford with a rosary service at 7 p.m. Visitation will also be from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Friday at the church.

Estelle was born Jan. 5, 1926 in the town of Deer Creek to August and Mathilda (Zimmerman) Berger. She grew up on the family farm in Deer Creek, attended Flat Meadow and Deer Creek School and graduated from Medford High School.
She then attended Normal School and taught for two years until her marriage.
On Sept. 17, 1946, she married Nyle Oldenberg at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Stetsonville. They continued farming on Estelle’s family farm in the town of Deer Creek.
Estelle was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church; and was a 50 year member of the Homemakers Club.
She is survived by her four sons, Duane of Deer Creek, Randy (Audrey) of Mosinee, Bruce (Beverly) of Plover, Dale of Deer Creek; two grandchildren, Jody (John) Krukowski of Wausau and Amy (Brad) Rieck of Mosinee; great-grandchildren, Ava, Eli and Dax Krukowski, Evelyn and Wyatt Rieck; special caregivers, Wendy (Todd) Geiger and her three sons, Trevor, Trenton and Trey, Debbie Sherman, Amelia O’Donnell, and Autumn Sherman.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Nyle in 2009; her four siblings, Norman Berger, Mary Filipiak, Alice Hoffman, and James Berger.
