They were married for 61 years and not a night went by that he did not say, “Goodnight, Momma.” During their time together, they played co-ed softball, bowled in a couples league, and danced their shoes off.

In 1968, Marlene and Delmer bought the grocery store, Milan Grocery, and operated it for 14 years with their three children, Blaine, Monica and Krista.

Marlene adored her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved to spend her time attending their many events. She especially enjoyed watching volleyball. Along with spending time with her grandchildren, she enjoyed playing solitaire, fishing for crappies, planting begonias, cooking Polish dishes and bowling. She also loved to rock and sing to her first great-grandchild.
