Daniel “Dan” Robert Budzinski, 64, of Gilman, passed away unexpectedly on May, 22, 2024 at his home. Dan was born June 2, 1959 in Stanley, to Robert “Bob” and Roseann (Latz) Budzinski. He was the oldest of the five children. Dan was raised in Gilman, and graduated from Gilman High School in 1977. He did four years in agriculture, advance building trades, and auto mechanics. He worked for a number of farmers for experience and management. He had a number of jobs throughout the years, Walter Lange Cement Construction/ Kane Construction, a foreman for Indian Head Community Action Agency, DHIA milk tester, he did rough carpentry and weatherization.

In 1985 Dan married Rita Ann Jones, together they had three daughters- Sheryl, Angelique, and Danielle. They bought a farm in Ruby Township, together they fixed it up, remodeled it, and put in a new basement. That is where all Dan’s construction experience came from. They planted an orchard three times and a blueberry patch, the deer, birds, and turkeys loved it. Dan learned what stray voltage was after losing 60 cattle in one year. Dan had a strong faith and taught his children and many others. He helped run a bible camp for children for 15 years. He was a member of The Knights of Columbus and served his community to the best of his abilities. He loved to teach his family the joys of hunting, fishing and trapping.

Dan is survived by his wife, Rita; his three daughters, Sheryl (Jorge) Escobar and their children, Lily, Luke, and Lena; Angelique (Mark) Buckner and their children, Kyana, Patricia, Tamina, and Amora; Danielle (Joshua) Gonyer and their children, Martin, Julieanna, and Loyd; his parents, Bob and Roseann Budzinski; siblings, Teresa Madlon and her three children, Tom Budzinski (Jodi) and his two children, Betty Block and her son, and Dale (Jodi) and his two children. He is further survived by his brother and sistersin- law, Rainy Ankley (Russ) and their three children; Donna (Bob) Richard and their three children; Jesse (Joy) Jones and their four children; Ron (Margaret) Jones and their four children; Wayne (Nicole) Jones and their four children; Anita (John) Valentine and their four children.

He was preceded in death by his niece, Teresha Snow; his mother and father-in-law, Gerald and Patricia Jones; and brother-in-law, Tony Madlon.

He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.

His grandchildren will miss his warm hugs, picking mushrooms, fishing and hunting with him.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 2, 2024 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Cornell, with Father Eric Linzmaier officiating. The visitation will begin at 12 p.m. and go until the start of service at 2 p.m. Burial will be at Arnold Cemetery (Ruby Cemetery). After burial everyone is invited for lunch at the Celebration Hall LLC., (the old IGA) in Gilman Express online condolences at www. bortonleiserfuneralhome.com.
