Alberta Strey

Alberta J. Strey, 96, passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2024, at the home of her daughter, Margaret.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11 a.m. on Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 9 a.m. until the start of the service at St. John’s Catholic Church.

Alberta was born on Feb. 16, 1928, in Prairie Du Chien to Frank and Stella (LaBonne) Lloyd, a proud decedent of two of the four founding families of Prairie Du Chien. - Alberta's family moved to Marshfield in 1941. She grad uated from Marshfield Sr. High in 1945. She worked at the offices of Roddis Plywood after graduation until she met Raymond A. Strey. They were Marshfield. They farmed in the Loyal-Granton area for many years until moving to Marshfield in June of 1989. Raymond died on Aug. 27, 2007. Alberta loved reading, crocheting, camping, riding on the motorcycle and ATVs, and spending time with family.

She is survived by her children: Jean (Joe) Faber of Marshfield, Mike (Vicki) Strey of Wittenberg, Duane (Jeanne) Strey of Granton, Ruth (Dennis) Erickson of Spencer, Ron aid (Diane) Strey of Marshfield, Daniel (Dawn) Strey of Sheldon and Margaret (David) Straka of Vesper. She is also survived by 30 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren and

nine great-great grandchildren.

She is further survived by her siblings: Gert (Bob) Feirer of Marshfield, Betty Hor

nung of Wausau, Judy Dix of Appleton, Karen (Lee) Schmoll of Lake Wales, Fla., and Dan Lloyd of Mayer, Ariz.; sisters-in-law: Marge Lloyd of West Bend and Darlene She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Terrance Strey; along with two great-grandsons, Isaac and Caleb Strey; brothers: Frances, Jim, Patrick and Harry Lloyd; sisters: Verlene Hebert, Arlita Frantz and Helen Paun; brothers-in-law: Ward Hebert, Ken Frantz, Wally Hornung, Larry Dix and Joe Paun; and sisters-in-law: Virene Lloyd and Donna Lloyd.

A special expression of gratitude is extended to the compassionate staff at Compassus Hospice Care, as well as to nurses Maranna and Nicole, and volunteer Diane Moss.
