Mary Ann Beaver
Mary Ann Beaver, 97, Marshfield, formerly of Loyal, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 28,2024, at the House of the Dove in Marshfield. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 21, 2024, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, in Loyal. Rev. Emmanuel Famiyeh will officiate and burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Pall bearers will be: Nicholas Beaver, Jacob Beaver, Eric Bauer, Kent Johnson, Ed Esselman and Paul Esselman. Visitation will be held at the church, on Thursday, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
Mary Ann Esselman was born on Aug. 5,1926, in Loyal, to Joseph C. and Phyllis E. (nee Altemus) Esselman. She attended St. Anthony's Catholic School and graduated from Loyal High School in 1943. After high school, Mary Ann attended school in Stevens Point for 2 years, and then enrolled in St. Joseph's School of Nursing in Marshfield for 3 years, earning her registered nursing degree. She was united in marriage to Ralph W. 'Bud' Bliesener at St. Anthony Catholic Church, in Loyal. They lived in Illinois where she worked as a nurse. Her husband died on April 3,1952, and she moved back to Loyal. Mary Ann went to work at Marshfield Clinic and at St. Joseph's Hospital as a nurse. She was married to Ronald James Beaver on Sept. 26, 1964, at St. Anthony Catholic Church. They lived in Loyal, and she continued working as a nurse until retiring in 1991, but continuing to work part-time for two more years.
She was a lifelong member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and its PCCW, and in her spare time enjoyed bowling, playing cards, quilting, playing bingo and reading.
Mary Ann will be dearly missed by her husband, Jim, of Marshfield; her children: Joan Bliesener of Eau Claire, Robert (Mary) Bliesener of Sun Prairie, Michael (Jeri Lynn) Beaver of Webster, Minn., and Barbara (Gerard) Postl of Eau Claire; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild; one brother: Lawrence (Julia) of Loyal; two sisters-in-law: Virginia Esselman of Oak Creek, and Helen Esselman of Loyal; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers: Charles, Clemens and Richard Esselman.
