He was preceded in death by his parents and his in-laws, Arthur and Lydia Weideman.

Aside from spending time with his family, Richard enjoyed antiquing with his wife Nancy. He enjoyed collecting items that had a story. He loved traveling around Wisconsin and fulfilled a lifelong dream of traveling to Alaska after he retired. Richard was an avid hunter and carpenter. He enjoyed logging in his later years and making furniture from the wood on the farm.

Richard leaves behind many friends who are thankful and blessed by the time they had with him. He was a devout Christian and will look forward to being with his loved ones again.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hope Lutheran Church. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 29, 2023, at Hope Lutheran Church in Edgar.
