Sharon Keller
“Don’t make a big fuss.”
Sharon L. Keller, approximately 82 years of age, passed away peacefully in the early hours of Friday, Aug. 25, in her home under the presence, care and love of her family.
Sharon’s exact year of birth is debated. However, she was born on Feb. 22, possibly in 1941, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She was a fighter from the beginning, right up to the end, having battled through adversity her whole life, including cancer in her last years, doing so with humor and care only for others.
Throughout her life, she was an award-winning dog breeder, professional seamstress, commercial truck driver, Civil War reenactor, caretaker; but most importantly, a loving mother and grandmother. She is survived by her siblings: Steve, Randy, Linda and Tamara; her children, John and Lisa; as well as a small army of grandchildren: Patrick, Sarah, Rachel, Mellisa, Bethany and Chavah; and three great-grandchildren, Annemarie, Charlotte and Erick.
Sharon did not wish for a “big fuss” to be made about her, both in life and after. However, a memorial service will be held next spring. In the meantime, if you wish to honor her memory, you may do so by enjoying an ice-cold root beer float, showing an unwavering love for your family and sharing the warmth of a smile. Just as she did.
Sharon’s arrangements are under the care of Life Tributes Funeral Home, Spencer. To share a memory or offer condolences, please visit www.lifetributesfuneralhome. com.
