Duane R. Anderson
1944-2023
Duane R. Anderson, 79, of Medford, passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2023 at Aspirus Care and Rehab, under the care of Hope Hospice, with his loving wife by his side. Funeral services for Duane took place at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2023 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, with Pastor Daniel Iwinski officiating. Burial followed at Medford Evergreen Cemetery II. Visitation took place at Immanuel Lutheran Church on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m.
Duane was born on April 27, 1944 to Paul and Viola (Neumueller) Anderson in Medford. He attended Immanuel Lutheran School and graduated from Medford Senior High in 1962. After school he worked for James Peterson & Sons. He then went into business with his parents Paul B. Anderson Corporation, when his Dad Paul retired in 1983 he rejoined James Peterson & Sons until his retirement in 2006. He married Mary Lou Dassow on Dec. 28, 1974 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Medford; she survives.
In his spare time Duane enjoyed snowmobiling, hunting, fishing, bowling, NASCAR, the Green Bay Packers and spending time with his family and friends. He was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where he was an usher, choir member, and a part of the church council.
Duane is survived by his wife, Mary Lou; children, Brad (LeNae Williamson) Paulsrud of Eau Claire, Travis (Michelle) Paulsrud of Weston, Brent (Danielle) Anderson of Rochester, Minn., and Troy (Sara) Anderson of Green Bay; grandchildren, Branton, Lindsay, Trevor, Morgan, Austin, Alicia, Braylee, Benton, Blake, McKenna, and Meghan; great-grandchildren, Breelyn and Croix. Duane is further survived by nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
Duane was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Carol Goerg.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Duane’s name may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church or Little Lamb Daycare.
