Donald W. (William) Meyer

1926-2023

Donald W. (William) Meyer, 96, of Medford, passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at Our House Senior Living in Medford. Cremation rites have been accorded and services will be held at a later date. Donald was born on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 25, 1926, to George and Ora Meyer in the town of Richfield. He married Anna May Rudi on May 1, 1948 in Marshfield, who preceded him in death on Jan. 24, 2005. Throughout his working career, Don managed several shoe factories in Wisconsin, Texas, and the Dominican Republic. He also farmed beef cattle in Rib Lake. He enjoyed bowling, golf, hunting, and fishing, throughout his life, and followed his favorite sports teams: the Brewers, Badgers, and Packers. He enjoyed traveling during his retirement years. While living in Rib Lake he was active in the community serving as a member of the Volunteer Fire Department, School Board, St. John Lutheran Church Council, and the Village Board. After moving to Medford, he and Anna May became members of Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Don is survived by his children, William ‘Bill’ (Barbara), Fullerton Calif.; Nancy Meyer, Powell, Tenn.; Todd (Sheryl) Meyer, Green Bay, and daughterin- law, Susan Meyer, San Antonio, Texas; 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; siblings, Russell (Sandy), Green Bay; Gerald (Adeline), Marshfield; Bernard (Shirley), Marshfield; Randy (Cheryl), Auburndale. Don is further survived by other family and friends.

Don was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Anna May; infant son, David Meyer; son, Tom Meyer; and sister, Doris Dupee.
