Rita Janel Kaehne Turner

1944-2023

Rita Janel Kaehne Turner, passed away Jan. 22, 2023 at Autumn Care of Marion, N.C. due to complications of heart disease and diabetes.

Rita was born December 14, 1944 to Leo William Kaehne, and Mary Medora (Stumm) Kaehne, and graduated from Rib Lake High School in 1963. She worked 33 years at Square D in N.C., and loved training dogs for many years especially German Shepherd dogs. Her wisdom in teaching dogs was admired and will be greatly missed.

Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charlie, who passed away in 2005. She leaves behind two daughters, Julie Thomas (Glen) of Forest, Va., and Joe Ann Harris (Terry) of Old Fort, N.C.; three grandchildren, Nathan Harris (Elizabeth) of Black Mountain, N.C., Ashley Foster (Elisha) of Matthews, N.C., Elizabeth Thomas (Kevin Smith) of Lynchburg, Va.; one great-grandson, Winston Foster of Matthews, N.C.; two sisters, Elaine Ward of Nebo, N.C., Marlene Zimmerman of Westboro; nephews, Ted, Randy (Becky), Rodney (Goody) and Ann Goodrich; and nieces, Mary Kaehne, Susan Alsteen, Nancy Swanson, Ronald, and Billy Kaehne.

Rita was also preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Lester, Raymond, Ronald Kaehne; sisters, Bonita, Evonne Kaehn; nephew, Conrad R. Goodrich; and brothers-in-law, Russ Zimmerman, Jim Ward, Conrad E. Goodrich.

She will be buried in Deo Rio, Tenn. by her husband at a later date.

The family expresses their sincere thankfulness to the staff at Autumn Care for their kindness and care of Rita.
