Frank Schoenfuss

Frank E. Schoenfuss, 96, Abbotsford, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 19, 2023, at Tomahawk Health Services.

Frank was born on February 2, 1926, son of the late Joseph and Marian (Kurtzwell) Schoenfuss. He married Jeanette Javorek on July 28, 1952, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Knowlton. She survives.

Frank was proud of his service as a WWII Veteran. He enjoyed sharing stories of his bowling league days. He was always up for a game of cribbage and loved to go fishing. Frank’s greatest joy, however, came from time spent with family. Many memories were made on spur-of-the moment adventures with his wife and children. Those who knew him knew how proud he was of his grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. The proof was in the pictures he carried with him and readily shared with everyone.

Besides his wife, Jeanette, Frank is survived by his children: Michael Schoenfuss, Wausau, Frank Schoenfuss Jr., Wausau, Mary (Jeff) Hohlfeld, Cable and Caroline (Lyle) Ament, Wausau; grandchildren: Ryan (Samantha) Warner, Mosinee, Alexandra (Payton) Jones, Hopkins, Minn., and Jessica (Kevin) Johnson, Grand View; and great-grandchildren: Emma, Raelynn, Ethan and Jack.

The funeral service will take place on Saturday, Feb. 4, 2023, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Knowlton, at 11 a.m. The Rev. Aaron Becker will preside. Burial will be at St. Francis Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 9 a.m. until the time of service, all at the church. Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee, is assisting the family with arrangements.
