Jerry J. Judnic, age 81, of Rib Lake, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2022, at his home under the care of his family and Hope Hospice & Palliative Care.

Jerry was born in Greenwood, to the late Joseph and Esther (Jarchow) Judnic. He was married to Ann Roiger on April 11, 1964; she survives.

Jerry began helping around the farm at a very young age. He worked in the logging industry for various local companies as well as Wrigley’s in Chicago, Ill. and also drove gravel truck for Kleist Trucking in Medford. Jerry enjoyed driving the countryside, loved having a few cold ones at the local saloon, and was a baseball enthusiast playing for Interwald & Whittlesey and also was an umpire. Jerry’s passion was logging, especially with his best friend, Wayne Fuchs. He was well-known in the area and often sought out for his expertise and knowledge in the trade. Jerry had a wonderful smile and sense of humor who always had the best comebacks. He will be missed dearly by his very large family and friends.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Ann Judnic; his children, Jerry (April), Jim (Lisa), and Jackie (Larry); his siblings, Doris Zitzer, Larry (Pat) Judnic, Russell (Judy) Judnic; and his brothersin- law and sisters-in-law, Jerry (Edie) Roiger, Joe (JoAnn) Roiger, Mary Lamberty, Rosemary Heier, Donna Roiger, Bruce Borman, and Lynn Judnic. He is further survived by his grandchildren, Brittany, Ashley, Douglas, Josie, Joredahn, Alysia, Nick, Nevaeh, Makayla, Tailor, Erin, and Evan, in addition to 23 great-grandchildren and many extended family members and wonderful friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Esther; his daughter, Wendy; his siblings, Shirley Judnic, Ronald (Darlene) Judnic, Joe Judnic, Cindy Borman, and Sandra (Vernon) Dunkel; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mike and Genevieve Roiger; and his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Nancy Roiger, Michael Roiger, Robert Lamberty, Robert Heier, and Daniel and Joan McCluskey.
