A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1, 2022, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Abbotsford. Father Eric Nielsen and Father Timothy Oudenhoven will preside. Family and friends are welcome from 4 until 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 30, at the Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford (a rosary will be recited at 6:45 p.m.) and from 1 p.m. until the time of service Saturday at the church. Jean’s cremains will be interred at Cogswell, N.D., at a later date in their family plot (per Jean’s wishes). Live stream will be available for those unable to attend on the Maurina Schilling Funeral Home Facebook page or after the service anytime on Facebook or the website.

Jean was born in “dusty” Cogswell, N.D., on the 14th of March 1935 to Bernard and Myrtle (Wight) Klinkhammer. She was a graduate of Forman High School. Shortly thereafter she moved to Abbotsford to be with her family. She was united in marriage to John Lindberg on July 3, 1954. They were married 61 years and had five lovely children together: Susan (Jeff) Viegut, Kerry (Jeannie) Lindberg, Jenny (Chuck) Runnoe, Amy (Jake) Adams and Emily (Don) Lasee. They in turn provided 17 grandchildren: Lori, Jeremy (Heather), Adam (Marya), Nick (Amy), Christopher, Melissa, Andrew (deceased), Joshua (Jacqueline), Amanda (Mike), Seth (Amanda), Lucas,Jacob,Mel,Angie,Bill(Keisha),Makalaand Sawyer. They gave them 21 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Jean worked for various companies in the area and managed to earn an associate’s degree from UW-Stevens Point in the midst of it all. She enjoyed sports of almost any kind, theater and life in general. Most of all she loved God, family, family gatherings and spending time with friends. She was a mentor and a confidante to many of us. If you asked her for “words of wisdom” she gave them (sometimes even if you didn’t want them). She will be missed by many because of it.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, John “Bud”, on September 17, 2015.
