Arnold J. King, age 95, died Saturday, July 30, 2022, peacefully at home surrounded by his family.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 4, 2022, at Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church in Edgar with Rev. Alan P. Wierzba as the celebrant and Rev. Monsignor Joseph Diermeier concelebrating. He will be laid to rest in the parish cemetery. Family and friends are invited to gather on Thursday at the church in Edgar from 9 a.m. until the time of service. The honor of being pallbearer belongs to Brad, Brian, Kyle, Lance and Brexton King, William Litzer and Mark Lemanski.

Arnold was born on July 16, 1927, son of Jacob and Emma (Fochs) King in the Town of Emmet in Marathon County. On August 26, 1953, he was united in marriage to Joan Stencil at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Town of Cassel. During their 68 years of marriage, the Lord blessed them with six children (three sons and three daughters), 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Arnold became a lifetime member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in 1927.

He and his wife, Joan, dairy farmed until 1989, and Arnold continued to always help with fieldwork for many years thereafter. He ran West Side Service Station, Edgar, for three years and then went farming.

His hobbies included woodworking, fishing, taking Sunday drives to church picnics, casino visits and visiting with shut-ins.

Arnold is survived by his wife, Joan; six children: Wayne (Cindy) King, Peggy (Jim) Lemanski, Rosalie (Carter) Litzer, Kelly (Elizabeth) King, Allan King and Valerie King; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, along with many other family and friends.

Arnold was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Paul Lemanski; brothers: Joe, Leonard, Tony, Aloysius, Alfred and Mark; sisters: Mary (Wilhelm), Ann (Schoenfuss), Agnes (Diettel), Dorothy (Ruplinger) and Loretta (Wojcik).

In lieu of flowers, you may donate to the Circle of Joy Food Pantry handled through St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Edgar.
