Katherine E. Neubauer, 91, of Medford, passed away on June 22, 2022 at Aspirus Care and Rehab, where she was a resident since November of 2015. Cremation rites have been accorded and a memorial service for Katherine will take place at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 30 at Hemer-Pickerign Funeral Home, Medford, with Pastor David Clements officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Rosary Cemetery. Visitation will take place at Hemer-Pickerign Funeral Home on Thursday, June 30 from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m.

Katherine was born on Aug. 13, 1930 to Herman Sr. and Elizabeth (Peters) Ruge in Medford. She attended Medford Schools. She married Mike Neubauer on Jan. 31, 1948. He preceded her in death in March of 1981. She worked as a mother and housewife her whole life. In her spare time she enjoyed all kinds of crafts, crocheting, and quilting, and camping.

Katherine is survived by her children, Mary (Wesley) Schwarz, Rosemarie (Jack) Strebig, Nancy (Jeff) Witek, Anita (Rick) Cantu, Donna Moss, Michael (Jean), Rodney, Roger, Robert, and Jim; 13 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. Katherine is further survived by brothers, Herbert Ruge and E. John (Eva) Ruge.

In addition to her husband and parents, Katherine was preceded in death by her sister, Ruth (John) Neubauer; brother, Herman Ruge Jr.; and sons, Gary and Fred.

Memorial donations in Katherine’s name may be given to her family to use at a later date.
