Trudy Nell
Trudy J. Nell, 69, of Unity, passed away on Friday, June 10, 2022, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
A service to celebrate Trudy’s life will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 30, 2022, at Life Tributes Funeral Home in Spencer. Family and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Thursday from 4 p.m. until the time of service.
Trudy was born on December 12, 1952, in Medford, a daughter of Lester and Margaret (Cramer) Willner. After graduation, she attended the former St. Joseph School of Nursing in Marshfield, completing her coursework and graduating as a licensed registered nurse in 1974. She later went on to receive her bachelor’s degree in nursing at UW-Madison. She was employed as a registered nurse in Green Bay, Denver, Colo., and at the former Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield in the labor and delivery department until her retirement on January 18, 2016. After a long courtship of 13 years, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Michael Nell, on December 15, 2006. He survives.
Trudy and Mike were the creators and founders of the “Old Cool Car Club” of Unity.
In her spare time, she loved to read books, especially murder mystery and romance, enjoyed her many lunch dates with colleagues and friends, going to craft fairs and downhill skiing. Trudy was an avid collector of snowmen figurines and loved displaying them during the holiday season. Trudy was a dedicated care provider to countless women during their labor and delivery. After a long day of helping others, she would always look forward to some snuggle time with her two favorite pugs: Izzy and Loli.
She is survived by her loving husband, Mike Nell of Unity; her siblings: Sharon (Ray) Rachu of Colby, Les (Kathy) Willner of Colby and Jim (Heather) Willner of Greenville; her mother-inlaw, Sue Nell of Simi Valley, Calif.; her fatherin- law, Jim (Phyllis) Nell of Arizona; her sisterin- law, Sherryee (David) Torres of Simi Valley, Calif.; her aunt, Bernadine Willner of Janesville; her canine companions, Izzy and Loli, along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Trudy was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Margaret Willner; her sister, Nancy Willner and two canine companions: Zoe and Maggie.
