1926-2022

Maurice “Gerald” Duffy, 95, formerly of Gilman, was called home, Friday, Mar. 25, 2022 at Orchard Hills Assisted Living, in Eau Claire. A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Apr. 1 at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church-Gilman, with Father Vijay Kumar Madani officiating. Burial will follow in Meadowbrook Catholic Cemetery-Gilman with Military honors. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of service Friday at the Church.

He was born at the family farm near Polley, on Dec. 28, 1926, to the late Frank and Agatha (Noonan) Duffy. Gerald graduated from Gilman High in 1944. He was a Navy veteran, serving in Guam, at the end of World War 2. He worked briefly for the Chicago Northwestern Railroad in Milwaukee, before returning home to run the family dairy farm.

He is survived by brothers, Leo Duffy of Madison and Harold Duffy of Milwaukee; along with many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Tom, Raymond, and Edmund Duffy; and sister, Helen Edmunds.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church-Gilman.

The family of Gerald would like to thank the staff of Orchard Hills Assisted Living, for his care.
