Janet Pinter
Janet J. Pinter, age 87, of Dorchester, passed peacefully into eternal life at home on March 11, 2022, surrounded by her loving family under the care of Hope Hospice of Medford.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at St. Louis Catholic Church, Dorchester, with Reverend Michael Hayden presiding. Private family interment followed at Dorchester Memorial Cemetery.
Family and friends were invited to gather at the church on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. A live stream was available for those unable to attend on the Maurina Schilling Funeral Home Facebook page or after the service anytime on Facebook or the website. The honor of pallbearers were Matt Ruppert, Nathan Pinter, Chad Thomsen, Seth Pinter, Johnie Pinter and Josh Wick. The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home of Abbotsford is entrusted with the arrangements.
Janet was born on September 30, 1934, the daughter of Nicholas and Hattie (Ludwig) Schumacher in Dorchester. She graduated from Dorchester High School. Janet worked in Dorchester as a telephone operator and factory worker at Neil Smith. She moved to Milwaukee as a clerical worker. On June 16, 1954, Janet was united in marriage to John Pinter at St. Louis Catholic Church in Dorchester. She worked alongside her husband and family at Pinters Packing Plant.
Janet enjoyed playing cards, ceramics, bowling, crocheting and puzzles. She was a lifelong member of St. Louis Catholic Church, Dorchester. She was an active member of the Catholic Order of Foresters and the Rosary Altar Society. Janet especially cherished and loved her family.
Janet is survived by her husband, John of 67 years; six children: Jean (Dean) Ruppert of Shawano, Dan (Terri) of Webster, Texas, Beth (Jeff) Specht of Colby, Al (Kathy) of Stetsonville, Sandy (Mike) Wick of Tomahawk and Brian (Terri) of Amherst; 26 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren and four great-greatgrandchildren. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her three brothers and two sisters: Lorraine Underwood, Celine Zirngable, Donald Schumacher, Norbert Schumacher and Kenneth Schumacher.
In lieu of flowers and plants, memorials are preferred and will be decided at a later date.
