Arthur L. Walls

1948-2022

Arthur L. Walls, Jr. 73, of the Township of Deer Creek, passed away on Friday, Mar. 4, 2022 at his home surrounded by family and under the care of Hope Hospice. A memorial visitation will take place on Saturday, Mar. 12 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Hemer-Pickerign Funeral Home, Medford Chapel. Military honors will be performed by the Medford Military Honors Team at 1 p.m.

Arthur was born on Sept. 23, 1948 to James and Lela (Turner) Walls in Syracuse, N.Y. Arthur served in Vietnam in the US Army from 1969 – 1970. After his service he returned to the Township of Little Black, where his family had bought a farm. He worked for Eggert Company and then for Medford Fur Food until his retirement. In his retirement he drove for J. Bauer trucking part time.

In his spare time Arthur enjoyed fishing, mowing lawn, and watching the Green Bay Packers. He was a hard worker all his life and loved driving semi-truck. His sense of humor, storytelling and kind heart is what his family and friends will miss the most.

He will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 48 years, Susan; his four children, Lela Walls of Ivanhoe, Minn., Darla (Jonathan) Rief of Medford, Arthur (Courtney) Walls of Stetsonville, and Carla Walls of Deer Creek; grandchildren, Keylan Walls, Blake Hinde, Jakob Rief, James Walls, Ashlyn Walls, Ayden Mock and Camyrn Schulz; siblings, Sandy (Dave) Mauer, Marty (Brian) Vircks, Dawn (Darryl) Felzkowski, and Linda (Paul) Nuernberger. Arthur is further survived by other family and friends.

Arthur was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Kathy Meyer and Melody Walls.
