Mary Lou Buchholtz

1930-2022

Mary Lou Buchholtz, 91 of Gilman, died on Thursday, Feb. 10, 2022 at Wissota Health Center-Chippewa Falls. A graveside service was held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 15 at Meadowbrook Cemetery with Rev. Brian Beardsley officiating. Mary Lou was born on May 18, 1930. She came to the Gilman area and worked with Gordon/Jenny Hendricks as a dietary side/housekeeper and in 1960 at the Zastrow Care Center with Carl/Irene Zastrow and later with Wayne/ Charlene Zastrow.

She enjoyed laughing (she had a very infectious laugh), being involved in church activities with her friends at Zion Lutheran Church, painting ceramics, watching Wheel of Fortune, listening to Randy Travis, Elvis Presley and Blake Shelton, going to parades, taking care of her cats/dogs and later in life enjoyed coloring, Bingo, stuffed animals, getting cards from her friends and visiting.

She is survived by the Wayne Zastrow family, Wayne, Tammy (Bill) Peterson, Dana (Steve) Mengel, Kelly (Tim) Heinbuch, Chad (Amber) Zastrow and all their children; as well as many friends she had made in the Gilman community.
