Linda Lou Ritchie Downing, 66, of 100 Redwood Circle, Gaffney, S.C. went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Feb. 4, 2022 at Spartanburg Medical Center. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 11, at Bethany Baptist Church with Reverend Phil Gallman officiating. The family will receive friends after the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Bethany Baptist Church, “Children’s Ministry,” P.O. Box 698, Gaffney, S.C., 29342. The family will be at the home of Joshua and Heather Ritchie, 196 Darwin Road.

Linda was born in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of the late Merelin Ritchie and MaryLou Wolf Ritchie. She enjoyed reading, cooking and was a member of Bethany Baptist Church.

She is survived by a son, Michael Downing (Tammy) of Rib Lake; four sisters, Laurie Sharrah (Jeff) of Arizona, Gail Ritchie-Antenucci (David) of Pacolet, Marylin Byars (Jerry) of Gaffney and Jill Walker (Jeff) of Arizona; three grandchildren, Allen McGie, Brandon Miller (Samantha) and Joshua Downing; two great-grandchildren, Elizah Miller and Erik Miller; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Trina McGie; and a sister, Brenda Hendrickson.
