Glora Mae Kraus
1931-2022
Glora Mae Kraus, 90, of the township of Maplehurst, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2022 at her home under the care of her family and Hope Hospice. A funeral service for Glora will take place at Zion Lutheran Church on Saturday, Jan. 8 at 11 a.m., with Pastor Richard Russow officiating. Burial will follow at Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will take place at Zion Lutheran Church on Saturday, Jan. 8 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m.
Glora was born in Plainfield on Sept. 27, 1931 to Earl and Marie (Kaatz) Ames. She later moved to Ogema. She married Marlin E. Kraus on Oct. 15, 1949 in Ogema; he preceded her in death on April 4, 2011. She was a farmer and homemaker in the town of Deer Creek for most of her life. She also owned and operated Kraus Trucking with her husband. She was secretary/treasurer for the Spirit Lake Improvement Lake Association for 12 years. She was also a volunteer for the Heart Association.
Glora enjoyed crafting, watching the Brewers, birdwatching, fishing, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Glora is survived by her children, Donald (Diana) Kraus of Battle Creek, Mich., Peggy (Ralph) Rindt of Gilman, and Nancy (Ed Motel) Dick of Medford; grandchildren, Shelby (Ryan) Couillard, Luke (LeAnn) Rindt, and John Rindt; great-grandchildren, Jacob and Bradley Couillard; step-grandchildren, Heidi, Larry, and Andrew; step-greatgrandchildren, Tyler and Jacob; brother, David Ames; sister, Arnis Sorenson; sister-in-law, Esther Kraus. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.
Glora was preceded in death by her parents; husband; infant daughters, Patty and Gail; siblings, Ione, Donald, Eleanor, Lawrence, Douglas, June, Mary, Arnold, Daniel, and Dewey; parentsin- law, Joe and Clara Kraus; brothers-in-law, Gerald and Ronald Kraus.
