Gary F. Machon

1936-2021

Gary F. Machon, age 85, of Medford passed away unexpectedly on Dec. 27, 2021 at his home.

Per Gary’s request there will be no funeral service.

Gary was born on May 4, 1936 to Freeman and Alleyne (Rowland) Machon in Chicago, Ill. He graduated from Taft High School in Chicago, and later graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Ill.-Champaign, in Industrial Education. In Dec. 1961, Gary entered the US Marine Corp, and trained as a jet pilot. Following his military service, he worked for American Airlines as a pilot for 27 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed flying his Aeronca airplane along with RC planes. He also enjoyed reading and computers.

Gary is survived by his wife of 62 years, Donna (Matheson) Machon; his sons, Keven and Mary Machon of Toledo, OH, Brett Machon (Jennifer Krauss) of Medford, Jason and Brenda Machon of Medford, and Jack and Tina Machon of Stetsonville. Gary’s nine grandchildren are Max, Margaret, and Isaac Machon of OH, Hannah and Noah Machon of Medford, Brayden and Jaylin Machon of Medford, and Owen and Emmett Machon of Stetsonville. He is also survived by his brother, Robert Machon of Ariz. and sister Barbra Hernandey of Ill.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents.
