Violet D. Yeager, 85, of Rib Lake died on Friday, Dec. 17, at Aspirus Hospital, Medford. Violet’s visitation will be on Thursday, Dec. 23, 2021, starting at 10 a.m. at The Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Rib Lake. Mass will immediately follow visitation at 11 a.m. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. She was born on Aug. 16, 1936, to Charles and Adela Spillner in Medford and attended Medford area schools. She married Christian Theodore Neubauer and they later divorced. Their children included Theodore Neubauer, Harriet Pautz (Dan Ludwig), Robert and Kathy Neubauer, Theresa and Charles Zassenhaus, Paul and Cathy Neubauer, Alan Neubauer, Joan and Pete Faber. She was blessed with five grandchildren, Jay Neubauer, Dale and Andrea Neubauer, Jason Neubauer, Heather and Jesse Faude, Jake and Paige Faber; and six great-grandchildren.

She later married William Yeager in 1973, and he preceded her in death in 2005. She took on the role of stepmother to Robert and Debra Yeager, James and Faye Yeager, Donald and Debra Yeager, Wade Yeager, Gordon (Kate) Yeager, Valerie and Wade Haynes, Bill Yeager (Sharon Vanderwyst). Blessed with numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren through her second marriage.

Violet was a very soft spoken gal, she loved to fish, she made delicious pies plus the favorite blueberry cheesecake at Christmas time. She made sure whomever showed up at meal time was fed, she loved to go bumming in her car. She knitted and crocheted blankets and went to Polka Dances and danced with her sister and family. She will be greatly missed by her family.

Violet has one surviving twin sister, Viola Downing and deceased brothers Marvin Spillner, Ed Spillner, and William Spillner and her parents.
