Darlene Pipkorn
Darlene Y. Pipkorn, 85, Colby, formerly of Loyal, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 20, 2021, at Marshfield Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., on Thursday, Dec. 2, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Loyal. Rev. Leo Johnson will officiate, and burial will follow in St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.
Darlene Yvonne Ledger was born on Oct. 22, 1936, in Marshfield, to Roland W. and Rose M. (nee Groff) Ledger. She was raised and received her education in Marshfield, graduating from Columbus Catholic High School in 1954. Darlene was united in marriage to Eugene Pipkorn on June 2, 1956, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Marshfi eld. They lived and farmed in Unity, where they raised their family. After her divorce, Darlene moved to Owen. She had many interests, but especially enjoyed reading, embroidery, sewing in her younger years, and keeping her kids in line. She loved the Packers, with her favorite player being Bart Starr.
She is survived by her children: Barb (Steve) Pankratz of Marshfield, Cheryl (Rolf) Johansson of Concord, N.C., Gini (Dave) Johansson of Fernwood, Idaho, Laura (Steve) Kauth of Loyal, and Tammy (Kevin) Smith of Eau Claire; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one son-in-law: J.B. Beidel of Colby; one daughter-in-law: Lisa Pipkorn of Dodgeville; one brother-in-law: Virgil Farunkrug of Hartford; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Darlene was preceded in death by her parents; three sons: John, Andy and Brian Pipkorn; one daughter: Dianne Beidel; three brothers: Bob, Roland Jr. and Donald Ledger; and seven sisters: Oralee Roth, Joyce Farunkrug, Doris Hirsch, Pearl Rand, Ruth Ledger, Rose Heindl, Lois Ledger, and one sibling in infancy.
