Shawn “Rabbit” Alan Decker, of Dorchester, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 31, 2021. A Celebration of life will be held at Shawn’s Parent’s Residence on Center Road, in Dorchester on Saturday, Nov. 6

from 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. paid off and he was able to update to a newer Harley that allowed him to take longer rides and overnight trips. He enjoyed helping with and attending local Memorial Rides with friends and family or going for a quick ride around the area. In May, Shawn took a long vacation and rode his bike from Florida back to Wisconsin enjoying the back roads of the Southern United States. If Shawn wasn’t on his Harley or in the shop working on one of his latest welding projects, he could be found enjoying a Bud Light with friends at Frickin A entertaining the crowd with his stories. Shawn was definitely a free spirit with a huge heart, he loved to be the center of attention and enjoyed making everyone laugh. Shawn had a special place in his heart for his beloved nieces and nephews and they loved their Uncle “Shawny” dearly. You could see the joy in his heart when he was running around or down on the floor playing or cuddling with the babies. Shawn was one-of-a-kind and touched the lives of many people around him. He will truly be missed and remembered always!

Shawn is survived by his parents, Bill and Diane Decker of Dorchester; paternal grandmother, Adeline Decker of Dorchester; his siblings, Kelly Gozdecki (Adam Wehe) of Medford; Dawn (Rolando) Pulido of Gurnee, Ill.; and Jamie (Brittany) Decker of Dorchester; nieces and nephews, Hailey Gozdecki, Ashton Wehe, Roman Pulido, Arabella Wehe, Owen Geiger, Royce Pulido, Aubree Decker, Ellie Decker, Raydn Pulido, Emmett Decker; many dear aunts, uncles and cousins. He was the Godchild of David Erl and Donna Thums.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Joseph A. & Delores Erl; paternal grandfather, Cyril Decker; and uncle, James Decker.

Shawn was born on Aug. 16, 1983, the son of Bill and Diane (Erl) Decker in Medford. Shawn, known by his friends and family as “Rabbit”, graduated from Colby High School in 2002. Shawn’s nickname came from his never-ending amount of energy and work ethic. He was an extremely hard worker and at a young age started working on his family farm and as a farm hand for many local farmers such as Ronald Decker, Seubert Inc., Blasel Custom Field work to name only a few. After graduating High School, Shawn obtained his certifications and entered into the workforce as a Stainless-Steel Welder and Fabricator. It brought him much joy to work in an industry that he loved; he was truly skilled and had a passion for welding and was respected by his co-workers for his knowledge and abilities. He worked with CFR out of Marshfield for many years which provided him the opportunity to travel to different parts of the United States on various contract jobs. Most recently he was working for A& B Processing Systems out of Stratford which allowed him to be home every night for his family. Shawn enjoyed taking his Harley Davidson motorcycles for a spin on the back roads enjoying the fresh air and sunshine. Last year the fruits of his hard work
