Jerry McNamar

1936-2021

Jerry McNamar, 85, of the township of Chelsea, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, Oct. 24, 2021 at his residence. A celebration of life will take place at a later date.

Jerry was born on Jan. 24, 1936 to Phillip and Tilly (Briant) Mc Namar in Whittlesey. He was a graduate of Medford High School. He moved to Westboro in 1956. He married Sharon Hollister on Nov. 17, 1956, in Rib Lake; she preceded him in death on Nov. 29, 2015.

Jerry worked at Hurd’s before buying and managing a farm for 33 years. After farming he went to work for Weather Shield until his retirement. He enjoyed deer hunting, cribbage, watching the Packers, and spending time with family.

Jerry is survived by his children, Bob (Renee) McNamar of Tomahawk, Allen (Ann) McNamar of Medford, Barb (significant other: John Sterr) Denzine of Fond du Lac, and Dale (fiancée: Keva Schult) McNamar of Medford; five grandsons; one granddaughter; eight great-grandsons; and two great-granddaughters. Jerry is further survived by a brother, Jim (Liz) McNamar of Medford; nieces; nephews; and other family and friends.

In addition to his wife and parents, Jerry was preceded in death by a sister, Nona Graumann in 1990; and a grandson, Josh McNamar in 2018.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Jerry’s family for use at a later designation.
