Theodore ‘Ted’ Oestreich
Theodore G. “Ted” Oestreich, 77, Auburndale, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 9, 2021, at his home. Per Ted’s wishes, no services will be held.
Theodore George Oestreich was born on May 10, 1944, in Marshfield, the son of Arnold M. and Carol E. (nee Smith) Oestreich. He was raised on the family farm in the town of Unity, rural Spencer, where he received his education. Ted enlisted into the U.S. Army and served until his honorable discharge. He returned to Marshfield and was united in marriage to Betty R. Salzwedel on Oct. 27, 1962, at Trinity Lutheran Church in the town of Richfield, rural Marshfield. They lived in Granton, where Ted worked at Bielke’s Feed Mill until their divorce. He then moved to Texas where he worked as a welder/mechanic on oil rigs for many years. Ted moved back to Auburndale and drove truck for Milwaukee Messenger in Stevens Point until retiring. He had many interests, but especially loved fishing and hunting.
Ted is survived by his children: Victoria Johnson of Marshfield, Gerald (Linda) Oestreich of Chippewa Falls, Ted Oestreich of Auburndale, and Sherry (Scott) Weigel of Marshfield; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one brother: Arnold (Mary) Oestreich of Mariposa, Calif.; one sister: Donna (Ray) Morrison of Loyal; one sister-in-law: Ellen Oestreich of Marshfield; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Jack Oestreich.
