Scott Soczka Scott Soczka

Scott A. Soczka, 36, of Edgar, died on Friday, Oct. 1, 2021, as the result of a truck accident.

He was born April 19, 1985, in Wausau, the son of proud parents John and Irene (Werner) Soczka. He attended Saint John’s Parochial School and graduated from Edgar High School.

Scottie was a lover of life and loved it with few boundaries. He loved his family, friends and pets fiercely. His crazy antics are legendary and will be remembered with great joy! It is true that he was a party guy and radiated fun. Scott was also a respected businessman and owner operator of Done Right Concrete of Edgar.

He loved hunting, fishing, or going to auctions and we will all miss the extraordinary sausage and meats from his smoker.

Scott loved his community and was a lifelong resident of the Edgar area. This immeasurable loss leaves a large, gaping hole in the heart of his family, his friends and the entire community.

Scott is survived by his parents, John and Irene Soczka; his brother, Andy of Edgar; his godparents, David and Suzanne Werner of Marathon, and many, many aunts, uncles, special cousins, friends and his beagle buddy, Trax.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; uncles: Mark Showers, David Soczka and Elmer “Root” Bornheimer.

Scott exited this world wrapped in many layers of love, just like he was on the day he was born. What a roaring, laughing, bright shining trip he took thru his life. Scottie, you are loved and, in our hearts, forever.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, Oct. 9, 2021, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Edgar with Rev. Alan Wierzba presiding. Following the Mass, Scott will be laid to rest in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in the Town of Cassel. Family and friends are invited to gather at the church on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. The honor of pallbearers belongs to Cody Soczka, Phil Berens, Patrick King, Dennis Halvorsen, Justin Werner, Evan Hannemann and Steve Stencil.

In lieu of flowers, the family is accepting memorials in Scott’s name for a charity to be determined.
