Doris Venzke

Doris Ruth Venzke, age 85, passed away Friday, Feb. 26, 2021, at UW Hospital, Madison.

She was born Oct. 3, 1935, to Sam and Erna (Weinke) Remus. She married Loren Venzke on April 9, 1954.

Doris was a dedicated farm wife who loved being a mom to her three daughters Becoming a grandma and great-grandma brought her a lot of joy. Doris was a terrific cook who hosted many friends and families around her farm table for one of her delicious meals or incredible pies She loved the Lord and was a prayer warrior for everyone she loved.

Doris is survived by her husband, Loren; three daughters: Sandra Stensgard of Eagan, Minn., Sherryl (Tom) Zillman of Janesville and Susan (Scott) McCumber of Honduras; seven grandchildren: Chris (Nicole) Zillman, Jon Zillman, Lauren Zillman, Aaron Stensgard, Shauna (Ben) Mitchell, Sam (Emma) McCumber and Seth (Melody) McCumber; six great-grandchildren: Brayden, Sophia, Lyla, Benson, Saylor and Cadence; and two brothers, Gary (Elaine) Remus and Philip Remus. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters: Verna and Gertrude, and one brother, Herbert.

Her memorial service will be held Saturday, Sept. 25, at Thrive Church, 400 Grand Avenue in Wausau. Visitation will be 1:30-2:30 p.m., with the service at 2:30 p.m.
