Joanne Tyznik
Joanne Irene Tyznik, age 87, of Colby, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, Aug. 26, 2021, at the Waterford Assisted Living in Colby under the tender care of Heartland Hospice.
A Mass of Christian burial was held 1 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 30, 2021, at St. Mary Help of Christians Parish in Colby. Father Joseph Redfern presided. Interment followed at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery. A visitation was held from 11 a.m. until the time of service at the church on Monday. Joanne was born on May 12, 1934, the daughter of the late John and Ida Irene (Holmquist) Bennett in Prescott. She was a graduate of Prescott High School in 1952. Joanne was united in marriage to the late Henry Tyznik on June 18, 1955, in River Falls. He preceded her in death on August 1, 2003.
Joanne was a receptionist/secretary for Perkins-Tracy Printing Co., in St. Paul, Minn., for three years; later moving to Colby in 1955 to farm until 1978. After farming they moved to Marshfield and she worked at Weinbrenner Factory for five years. Joanne loved playing cards, gardening (flowers and vegetables), embroidery, canning and baking. Most importantly, she cherished and enjoyed being with her family. Joanne is survived by four children: Steven (Gina) Tyznik of Lublin, Tammy (Erlan) Wenzel of Marshfield, Mark (Julie) Tyznik of Colby and Sharon (Ronald) Krautkramer of Athens; 17 grandchildren: Matthew, Adam, Jonathon, Nya, Raeya, Tyler, Chelsea, Mitchell, Derek, Danielle, Benjamin, Eric, Amber, Andi, Jeremy, Kim and Derek; 12 greatgrandchildren; two brothers: Keith (Rita) Bennett of Balsam Lake and Willard (Bonnie) Bennett of River Falls; a sister-in-law, Kathy Bennett of River Falls; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters: Lois (Clarence) Wussler and Maxine (Bill) Hoven; and a brother, Gerald Bennett.
