Bernard Bornheimer

Bernard Bornheimer, age 85, passed away at his home in Belvidere, Ill., on July 24, 2021. He was born Nov. 28, 1935 to Leo and Regina (Brzezinski) Bornheimer. He attended Holy Family School in Poniatowski and graduated from Athens High School in 1954.

He served two years in the Army and some years after returning home, he married Patsy Hanson on May 21, 1966. They moved to Bevidere, Ill., where he was employed at Chrysler Corp. until retiring. Patsy passed away on June 28, 2002.

Bernard is survived by siblings: Norman (Phyllis), Leo (Jean), Eileen, Leonard, Ceil (Duane) Felzkowski, Harvey (Ione), Audrey (Dale) Hoffmann, James (Carolyn), Dennis (June) and Linda Coe. He is also survived by sister-in-law, Theresa Bornheimer; one aunt, Loretta Brzezinski; one special cousin, Carol Ashbeck; many other cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Elmer in 2018; and brother-in-law, Richard Coe in 2021.

Services and burial took place August 3, 2021, at Highland Garden of Memories in Belvidere. May he rest in peace!
